Event Name:	Light the Night Walk
When:	September 18th, 2008 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where:	Heartland of America Park Omaha, NE
General Information:	The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has asked the Central Garrison and Imperial 80th Squad to participate in their "Light the Night Walk" on at Heartland of America Park. The evening starts with registration at 6:00 pm, and the walk starting at 7:30 pm. The walk is a mile and is usually over by 9:00 pm. The walk and its festivities are a culmination of fund raising efforts and a time for us to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. The funds raised help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with their mission: Find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. They do this through research, patient education, patient aid and support groups for patients and their families. During the walk, participants carry illuminated balloons; white for survivors, red for supporters and gold for memorials.
