The Imperial 80th Squad and the Central Garrison have been asked to provide an Imperial Presence for a local tribute to Star Wars Conductor, John Williams. Event Name: Riverfront Pops Venue: Modern Woodmen Park Venue address: 209 S. Gaines St. Davenport, IA Event Start: 9/6/08 - 3 PM Event End: 9/6/08 - 8 PM Event Website: http://www.qcsymphony.com Expected number of attendees: 7500 This event is one of the biggest summertime events in theQuad Cities, drawing 5-10,000 people to the Quad City riverfront every year. This is its 26th anniversary, and due to flooding it has been moved next door to Modern Woodmen Park. This year's program is focused on the music of John Williams, including themes from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T. and more. Because of the flooding, many local events have been down. The QCSO is a small non-profit, and this event is the cornerstone of our annual budget. |
